To Sonoma and Back Again

Downgrading from Sonoma to Ventura

For the first time, ever, I’m downgrading from a newly released operating system to its predecessor; macOS Sonoma to macOS Ventura. The driving force for the downgrade was VideoProc’s instant loss of functionality. It’s third-party software which I use every day and their tech support seems incapable of answering simple questions about this issue, so the downgrade was necessary until updates are issued.

Just for Nostalgia

My favorite operating system of all time, Windows 2000 Professional. It’s running within Oracle’s VirtualBox on a Windows 11 gaming notebook.
Windows XP Professional, also running under emulation. It was released to manufacturer 22 years ago, this month.

Time for an Upgrade

My old MacBook Pro was getting (already is) long in the tooth, no longer supported, and unable to install the forthcoming release of Apple’s latest OS. Best Buy had the 2020 M1 models on sale so off to the store I went. A few weeks later, I was able to upgrade to macOS Ventura
